Mankind Sydney is an exciting new concept in professional skincare - a stylish clinic geared towards guys. Mankind is located in the heart of Sydney's burgeoning Surry Hills district at 425 Crown Street opposite The Clock Hotel.
Specialising in face treatments, body treatments, massage, manicures, pedicures, waxing and IPL treatments, Mankind is a complete, one-stop skincare shop. Dermalogica has been selected as the clinic's signature skincare brand, and Murad is offered for its peels and Vitamin C infusion treatments. There are a variety of differing shaving products from Men-U and Sharps and Mankind also stocks a variety of chic grooming products, such as the Italian designed men's line, Acca Kappa as well as Rubis Switzerland manicure sets.
All treatments are named from a male perspective. Guys can opt for the "The Presidential" Face Treatment, "The Scrub" Body Treatment and the "Hair of the Dog" package. There are no poetic descriptions or verbose promises. Mankind's menu reads like a daily planner. "Guys want to know what we can do for their particular skin condition and how long it's going to take".
Mankind's vision is clean and open, with a leaning toward natural products. Organic, feel-good materials such as timber, stone and glass are used extensively throughout the clinic while the staff are clothed in Diesel uniforms. The attitude is relaxed, welcoming and professional.
The clinic is purpose built with men in mind. Extra large massage tables, slick lines and large, sound proofed rooms add to the inviting atmosphere. "We're taking it back to basics and stripping away all the "new age" mystery about skin care", says Anderson, "because we are essentially a prescriptive based business".
